Outside The Pale
04:16
|
|||
We grew up in a small town just outside the pale
30 miles from Dublin riding with the rails
The times they were the eighties when things were kinda tough
Where jobs they weren't many we tried from dawn till dusk
Outside the pale, without fail, they've ruined all of us
Outside the pale, without fail, they betrayed our trust
The rain it kept on pouring, pouring down on us
Drowning in the darkness it washed away the dust
Our hearts they were afflicted and heavy with the load
Still so dark and lonely it's a story long been told
Outside the pale, without fail, they've ruined all of us
Outside the pale, without fail, they betrayed our trust
Outside the pale, a holy grail, they ruined all of us
Outside the pale, now so frail, they betrayed our trust
The boom it started coming and change was on the cards
Then people started moving and swimming with the sharks
Greed to be the downfall of the tiger as he roared
Then back towards the old times we'd seen it all before
We left to move to Boston as my father did before
We had nothing in out pockets just pennies for our thoughts
So I went and packed my suitcase and headed for the plane
Hoping for a new start and let go of the pain
Outside the pale, without fail, they've ruined all of us
Outside the pale, without fail, they betrayed our trust
Outside the pale, a holy grail, they ruined all of us
Outside the pale, now so frail, they betrayed our trust

Fill Tomorrow

Howard Moss - Fill Tomorrow
All words deserted me and strangled up my soul;
Look to another world, that it could make me whole
SOMEWHERE THERE WON'T BE SORROW, WHERE I CAN FIND TOMORROW
My poetry has gone and drifted (floated) into space,
My mere existence now seems lost without a trace
SOMETIMES THERE WON'T BE TROUBLE BUT RIGHT NOW IT SEEMS DOUBLE.
Their shame and cheating brings the tears into my eyes
But there'll be changes made, they're in for a surprise...
MAYBE WE'LL FILL TOMORROW, WITH HAPPINESS, NOT SORROW.
I Won't Be Alone, though No-one will be near,
I won't be alone. But nobody will hear
The door will open - wide and let me through
let me through
My re-emergence will be seen without disgrace,
my new position will have helped me change my face.
And I can fill tomorrow, with happiness, not sorrow
All innocence betrayed by false authority
Who hide behind the shield of aunthenticity
Sometimes there won't be trouble but right now it seems double
Their shame and cheating brings the tears into my eyes
But there'll be changes made, they're in for a surprise...
For sure we'll fill tomorrow with happiness not sorrow
I Won't Be Alone, though No-one will be near,
I won't be alone. But nobody will hear
The door will open - wide and let me through
let me through
All words deserted me and strangled up my soul;
Look to another world, that it could make me whole

Moving On

Moving On
Time has come and I'm moving on
Far away from the town I belong
I've packed by bags and I'm out the door
No point talking as I've heard it before
Then down the road, as I shed a smile
Freedom calling once in awhile
The sun is out and my mind is clear
Time to soak up this new atmosphere
On down the road, far away from here
Now that it's all become finally all clear
Far away from the town we know
A brand new scene and some different clothes
Time to catch a few new styles
Time to go for the extra mile
On down the road, far away from here
Now that it's all become finally all clear
Chorus
Then down the road, as I shed a tear
Thinking clearer and I'm walking on air
The sun comes out for a short while
It's my call out to the wild
On down the road, far away from here
Now that it's all become finally all clear
Time to see things a different way
Now I won't waste another day
Now I'm there and the sun is bright
The sand is warm and I see the light
I feel so glad that I made this choice
Sound of the sea is such a lovely noise

Need To Know Now
04:53
|
|||
I see you sitting there hardly talking
Just starring onwards with years in your eyes
I see you sleeping but bearly dreaming
What is going on behind those fearlul cries
I need to know now, I need to know now
I need to know before you go
I see you whisper but I can't hear you
I see those tears now that slowly fill your eyes
I want to hold you but I can't feel you
Then the tear drops to the floor and then it dryes
I need to know now, I need to know now
I need to know before you go
I see you falter as you stand up
I try to keep you up for a short while
Then To the window as you stare out
I see you try to hide the pain behind your smile
I need to know now, I need to know now
I need to know before you go
I see you lye down and see you breathing
I hold you're hand now if only for awhile
If only I could let you hear me
I tell you how I felt but I've missed by half a mile
I need to know now, I need to know now
I need to know before you go
The things you achieved in your lifetime
Is more than most could wish before they die
It's got so quiet you can hear a pin drop
All I hear is the sad sound of goodbye
I need to know now, I need to know now
I need to know before you go
As you leave now on your final journey
Your world's so empty and cold I testify
I wish I'd said those words of meaning
Now I won't get another chance I wholly verify
I need to know now, I need to know now
I need to know before you go

Subtle Kind Of Grey
04:19
|

Don't Give Up On Yesterday
When the sun is gone, and the sky is grey
When you're lying there alone, there's no light upon your face
Sometimes it seems that all is lost, when you've made a few mistakes
Sometimes you need to count the cost, but you've never had the breaks
but don't give up, live with the choices that you made
Now the day is dark, and your thoughts are vague
You tried so hard, now the skies a subtle shade
Sometimes it feels that all is gone and you can't turn another page
Sometimes it feels that all is gone, just like a prisoner in a cage
But don't give up, you know bad memories they will fade
Now don't give up, don't give up
Don't give up, It's just a subtle kind of grey
In the silence of the night, when simple words get in the way
When you're feeling cold and lost, and you're a million miles away
You couldn't calculate the cost, now it's a debt that can't be paid
You couldn't think about the loss, it wasn't all expenses paid
But don't give up, it's the dawn of a new age
Now don't give up, don't give up
Don't give up, It's just a subtle kind of grey
Middle 8
Your faith will shine through and then you will find your way
Your hope will come true then you won't long for yesterday
But don't give up, don't give up
Don't give up, it's just a subtle kind of gray
Doh, du, do, do, it's just a subtle kind of gray
doh, du, do, do, it's just a subtle kind of gra

All Hopes Gone
04:42
|

All Hopes Gone
When I grew up in the town of the rising sun
I had so much to look forward to my life had begun
I had lots and lots of friends and my family
And they were all concerned about what I would be
I enjoyed my time at school and my life in my teens
And I didn't want my life spent tied to machines
So I got my eductation and a college degree
Anything to be the best that I could be
All Hopes gone, All hopes gone
I moved away from town and I found a job
Got myself and wife and worked round the clock
Bought ourselves a house up around the hills
But seemed to spend my time just paying the bills
Next thing I remember I got my self into debt
Easy to remember and so hard to forget
My wife she left with another man
Then I put together my desperate plan
All Hopes Gone, All Hopes gone
The bank they came and took my house away
I didn't have a chance to keep the wolves at bay
Next thing I remember I was out on the streets
Couldn't even stand up straight on my two feet
So I went into town and I bought myself a gun
About to do the wildest thing that I have done
Went into the bank and I stole the loot
The cops pursued me in a high speed pursuit
All Hopes gone, All Hopes gone
So I crossed the county line into New Orleans
The way my life tunred out justified the means
It's a bad thing to do don't get me wrong
But I've always been as honest as the day is long
Adventually I was caught and thrown in jail
I never knew a soul that would pay the bail
Now I'm my cell with the time on my hands
Looking back I never had a fighting chance
All Hopes Gone, All Hopes Gone

Waiting For The Girl
04:04
|

Howard Moss - Waiting For The Girl
All day, waiting for the girl,
hoping , that things will turn out well.
Waiting, in the wind and snow,
hoping, the girl is gonna show.
Dah de dooh, Do dah do dah doo, I keep on waiting
Do dah do dah do, just keep on waiting,
Do dah do dah do - AND I'M STILL WAITING
Searching for the nerve to say "hello",
She'll smile and then down the road she'll go.
Sometimes when the sun's about to shine,
I think someday soon, for sure she will be mine.
Dah de dooh, Do dah do dah doo, I keep on waiting
Do dah do dah do, just keep on waiting,
Do dah do dah do - AND I'M STILL WAITING
In the crowd, I could be feeling so lonely,
like I haven't got a friend in this place.
Yes, I'm always feeling quite lonely
but then I catch a glimpse of your face.
It's like A picture that I'll always remember
it's one that sets my senses ablaze
burning brightly, such a colourful ember
Staying with me for the rest of my days
All night, waiting by the phone
Lonely, it's no fault of my own
Thinking, of good times up ahead
Drinking, to words I never said
Tomorrow, I hope my world will change
Hoping, it's still not a guessing game
No one, knows what the future holds
Hoping, she'll bare to me her soul
Dah de dooh, Do dah do dah doo, I'm always waiting
Do dah do dah do, just atticipating,
Do dah do dah do - stop my heart from breaking
Do dah do dah do - it's a constant craving
Do dah do dah do - a chance worth taking
Do dah do dah do - I ain't complaing
Do dad do dah do - In the time remaining

One Step At A Time
03:54
|
|||
Howard Moss - One Step At A Time
We need to take it one day at a time
Forget about the bad things and leave our troubles behind
We need a clear out of our minds
Look forward to the future when good times then we will find
We need to make it one step at a time
Then we come together and things will suddenly align
We need the (tight) rope to untwine
Then we can move forward and the sun will finally shine
Now the sky has come clear, calming our fears
Waiting for the sun
Now the sun has come through, out of the blue
And we're the lucky ones
We need to think about the things in our life
Then we should be grateful that our dreams are still so alive
We need to stand up tough and fight
Put a brave face on though you may feel dying inside
We need to take it one week at a time
Forget the bad people and there negative vibes
We need to feel free in our hearts
Time to get warmer and this feels like a good place to start
We need to take one month at a time
Now the things are better and now we're doing just fine
We need together to remind
That we have each other and now we'll never resign
Now the sky has come clear, calming our fears
Waiting for the sun
Now the sun has come through, out of the blue
And we're the lucky ones
Now the sky has come clear, calming our fears
Waiting for the sun
Now the sun has come through, out of the blue
And we're the lucky ones

Unfinished Dream
04:41
|
|||
She came as a vision, that I saw last night
So ghoslty appearing, like a shining light
Then the shadow got clearer I could make out her face
She seemed then to whisper then slowly did fade
Back into the distance and out of the door
She again got me thinking about the image I saw
I knew I knew her from someplace Somewhere that I'd been before
When we were much younger Yet your life was cut short
You've been alone for along time Still just wondering why
Why you left so untimely and memorys simply won't die
Then I could make out your whisper And what your lips they did say
It was a message of saddness From ghosts of yesterday
How you'd wished you'd stayed longer Longer than ever before
How you missed all the good times It's what you would have lived for
You'll never get out of my mind It's where you always will stay
You'll also be there by my side and there's no easy way
So instead I live onwards and keep moving on
Until the day when it all stops And all the darkness will dawn
Then I will be with you together up there we climb
Then leave all the memorys and the past behind

Hallowed Ground
04:09
|
|||
When she was walking just the other day
She was somewhat destined to be found
It was she he spotted clear the other nite
It was he who brought her to the ground
They let him out of hell the other night
He was never born into hallowed ground
He can never change the way he thinks or acts
He was always dancing to the devils sound
Such a waste of life and now such haunting cries
Its a dreadful loss of a life so young
Such a dreadful waste it give a sickening taste
For the life you had that has come undone
He was waiting in the dark that night
He knew exactly his wicked plan
To take her life away so desperatly
Was the workings of a wicked man
He left her lifeless in the twilight
Nothing left but silence in a madding crowd
Left in pain without her dignity
A bitter end of a life so proud
When she went walking just the other day
She was taken without a sound
He stepped out of the dark and the shade
and he pulled her to the ground
Such a waste of life and now such haunting cries
Its a dreadful loss of a life so young
Such a dreadful waste it give a sickening taste
For the life you had that has come undone

Too Tired To Fight

|

Too Tired To Fight
All alone except for the memories
By myself down this dusty road
All is lost with my inner serenity
No key to unlock the code
A faded photo I have of the two of us
A box of memories locked away safe
All disappeared in a cloud of cosmic dust
Buried down and lost in space
Too tired to fight
Too tired to pick myself on up
My hands are tied
I'm just down and ran out of my luck
Out there on the dark side of the street
The sun shines on the other side
Now it's time to beat a quick retreat
No sun here to be my guide
Too tired to fight
Too tired to pick myself on up
My hands are tied
I'm just down and ran out of my luck
Days are still so dark and slow
No more peaceful waters flow
Trouble follows where I go
But you reap just what you sow
All alone except for the memories
By myself down this dusty road
All is lost and inner serenity
No key to unlock the code
Too tired to fight
Too tired to pick myself on up
My hands are tied
I'm just down and ran out of my luck
The tears are cried
Eyes dried and nothing more to drop
Torn up inside
Now that I can't turn back the clock
Now I can't defy the odds
Days are still so dark and slow
No more peaceful waters flow
Trouble follows where I go
But you reap just what you sow

Step Out Of The Void
06:37
|
|||
With nerves of steel you clamber
With some people that you know
Walking up the stairwell
You did it all alone
With nerves as strong as steel
And a heart as strong as stone
something knowon achived
You did it long ago
Walking up the stairwell
You step out on the top
You breath the thin air deeply
It's a lonely rope to walk
Step out of the void
Step out of the world
This is all you've got
Step out of the void
Step out of the world
This is all you got
You feel you soul is drifting
Your feet can't feel the floor
You mind is sent to thinking
Could this be the last thing that you saw
Fix the locks around the concrete
You tie the rope around your waist
It's a feat thats almost complete
A life is a terrible thing to waste
Step out of the void
Step out of the world
This is all you've got
Step out of the void
Step out of the world
Step out of the void
Give it one more shot
Step out of this world
Step out of this void
Time to see the world
You balance and take the first step
And feel the wind beneath your feet
The mist as you take a deep breath
They find it hard to believe
People wateched in shock down below
They couldn't trust what they saw
To see you step out into a thousand feet
One step could be a fatal flaw
Step out of the void
Step out of the world
This is all you've got
Step out of the void
Step out of the world
Step out of the void
Give it one more shot
Step out of this world
Step out of this void
Time to see the world
